Taking steps to be more eco-friendly…

Recently, with the exciting launch of our online resources form (we love a good form) (no joke), our free resources have been flying out of the door! So, when it came to reordering new merch, we wanted to approach it through an eco-friendly lens.

Previously, some resources we’ve used, like wristbands, were packaged in A LOT of plastic. (Like, *each* wristband wrapped individually – that sort of level) We recognise how detrimental plastic is to the environment (#endsingleuseplastic), and this time when we were ordering wristbands, we asked suppliers to minimise packaging, which they did! (Yaaaaaas). Also, the material for the wristbands was made using eco-friendly silicone. Amazing!

Something else we’re MEGA excited about (stationary though? I KNOW you get it) is our NEW PENS! These pens were made out of recycled CD cases, which blows my mind. How cool is that? Even something as small as pens have a lot of plastic on them and if we think about how many pens get discarded every year…I can’t imagine the amount of plastic waste that amounts to! These pens, then, are really great because they’re produced from recycled material.

We’re taking steps to be more eco-friendly every day. If you have any suggestions or pointers you’d like to share, we’d love to hear from you! Get in touch at thinkpositive@nus-scotland.org.uk.
