The Stirling Student’s Union are leading the “Speak your Mind” campaign to encourage students to speak up when they are facing challenges to their mental health.
By encouraging everyone on campus to be able to talk more openly about mental illness it is hoped the campaign will empower students to reach out for support and share what is going on for them.
Mental health and mental illness are often perceived as taboo subjects with people feeling uncomfortable talking about them. To further challenge the stigma of speaking up the Stirling Union team also led a campus wide activity spreading the word about the “Elephant in the Room” with slogans on t-shirts and elephant masks circulating social media too.
