Cards for Calm

You have probably heard of Cards Against Humanity but have you hear about Cards for Calm? This new format card game aims to relieve symptoms of anxiety and stress while tackling the stigma associated with metal health.

Cards for Calm is a game that helps you discourage negative thinking and deal with anxiety.

Play. Mindfully.https://t.co/QYW6UXPczX

— Cards for Calm (@CardsForCalm) August 1, 2016

Launched as a crowdfunded project, the new deck of cards “combine mindfulness, visualization techniques and creative thinking to make a game out of being happy.”

To play the game, users simply shuffle the cards before going to sleep at night and place the deck on top of their phone. In the morning, instead of reaching to check emails and social media straight away you can pick the top card and “create a moment of calm” with one of the cards which could highlight a behavior or action encouraging more positive and mindful living.

Each of the cards will encourage 1-3 minutes of time to be spend on “calm” so could be a great way for many people to fit mindfulness into their day. Instructions on the cards include thinking about bad habits you might like to change, focusing on the purpose of things around you and thinking about how you can shield yourself from negativity.

You can read more about the cards in this article from Konbini.

Cards for Calm is currently taking pre-orders via Kickstarter and will be available from Amazon and selected retailers soon. A free version of the deck is also available to download and print out yourself.
