Depressed Cake Shop Success

On Sunday we were helping out the lovely folks at The Depressed Cake Shop in Glasgow. It was a great day and a fantastic amount of money was raised for the Mental Health Foundation.

The day was made into such a success by all the wonderful people who were willing to help out for a good cause. At the start of the day there was the slight worry there wasn’t enough cakes`, however as time went on more and more boxes of grey goodies arrived. It was clear that everyone had spent the previous day slaving away in their kitchens to make sure there was enough grey treats for anyone who passed by the shop.

The cakes were all amazing. Some of my personal favourites cakes of the day were the white chocolate covered oreos, sad shortbread women with grey lemon icing, the earl grey cup cakes and the grey hearts with vanilla butter cream dip.

Thank you to Julie who did an amazing job setting up the Glasgow event and getting everyone together on the day. She made it possible for the shop to raise over £300. Also thank you to Miss Cakehead (Emma Thomas)  for the entire Depressed Cake Shop project. It is a fantastic and creative way to help raise awareness about mental health issues and raise money of course.
